As of Wednesday, we’re 43% of the way through with Bout of Books 19 and I must admit I’m having more fun than I thought I would. And it’s so satisfying to get a few of the books on my TBR list read.
I came out of the gate a little slow and I’m pretty sure that I will not be able to read all the books I planned, but my reading energy has been renewed and I think I can keep the momentum going.
Here’s a quick recap of Monday-Wednesday
Monday, Day 1 – I fell asleep halfway through Lois Lowry’s The Giver
Tuesday, Day 2 – Finished The Giver
Wednesday, Day 3 – Read Marjane Satrapi’s Persepolis (Books 1 & 2)
So, how am I faring thus far?
Here are today’s stats:
- # of pages read: 565
- # of books read: 3
- Currently Reading: Vieth Thanh Nguyen’s The Refugees
For the next
seven three days, I’ll continue to chip away at the books I chose for the challenge that are short enough they may be read in a day.
I’m still 7 books behind on my reading goals for the year, but fingers crossed 🤞 and with the help of Bout of Books challenge I’ll get closer to being caught up. You can follow my progress on Goodreads.

- The Turn of the Screw by Henry James
