Weekend Coffee Share

Welcome! Welcome! Welcome! I hope you all had a great week and your weekend has shaped up to be just as good if not better. Come on in and sit a spell. Pour yourself a cuppa and grab yourself a sweet treat.

A lot has happened since my last coffee share, but I’m not going to get to much into all the happenings. Here’s a quick overview. At the beginning of the month I moved from Denver, CO back to Maryland. 😢😔 I’ll be going back to school in January to get my teaching certification for secondary education. I’ve come to the conclusion that this is where I need to be and I really can’t take another layoff.

If we were having coffee. . .

I’d tell you that November is going to be super busy. I’m working part-time and teaching in an adult literacy program and shuttling my mom back and forth to doctors appointments (trying to give my dad a bit of break). But that’s only a small part of November. The bigger part is:

I’m participating in NaNoWriMo and NaBloPoMo (Nanopoblano). I’m also going to post daily to Instagram/Bookstagram.

If we were having coffee. . .

I’d tell you that I will be doing a book Giveaway, which will start on November 12th and end November 18th. So, mark your calendar.

  1. This is my first week back in the Coffee Share in ages. I’ll have to check out Eclectic Alli’s post, though ti might be next next week…

I know leaving Colorado must be hard (it is a gorgeous state!), but glad the move went well. If I remember correctly, you are pretty close to DC. There’s a lot happening in that region. Sometime when I am down there for work maybe we can really have coffee 🙂

    Good luck with the NaNoWriMo!

    • We will definitely have to have coffee. There are a lot of coffee shops around, and I don’t mean the big box ones like Starbucks. One of my favorites is Peregrine’s, which I’ll take a trip to next time I’m at Eastern Market.

Glad to have back on the Coffee Share. Not sure what happened to Diana. When I came back I found that here site was marked private and I guess that’s why Eclectic Alli is doing the Share. I do hope all is well with Diana.

Thanks! I’ll need the luck with NaNoWriMo. This is a stretch for me. Not that I can’t write that many words. It’s the daunting task of writing 1,667 words a everyday for 30 days.

  2. I’m envious about your involvement in an adult literacy programme. I tried to do this as a volunteer in my community but got told that I had to be qualified which would cost me about $1000 so I ruled that out….

  3. How exciting, to be going back to school! And the writing challenges for November sound … strenuous! I hope that the group comes back together that formed for April’s NaPoWriMo, so that we can do another month of poetry writing in November. So much fun to take part in group activities.

Pleased to find the Weekend Coffee Share folks, again, and to meet you! Best wishes for the week!

  4. If we were having coffee, I would tell you how much I appreciate your kind comment on my niece’s experience on bullying. I would also tell you how courageous you are to participate in nanowrimo and nablopomo–I’m lucky to get a post done a week! I would also tell you that I’m happy to have run across your site and am a new subscriber. Thank you! Dawn
