ABC Book Challenge: F

I’ve seen this book challenge around for a while now and traced it back to Classy x Book Reviews. It seemed like a fun challenge to do, until I started going through my TBR. I have a fairly sizeable TBR and it is out of control. I have hundreds of books and it seems that nearly half of them are unread.

Having said that, this challenge should be a real eye opener of what I’m going to read or not going to read. I feel a purge coming on.

Most Memorable Books

Well, well, well. Here we are with another ABC Challenge. This go round we’re talking about books beginning with the letter F. One is memorable because I hated it and the another because it hit the makes you go all mushy inside button.

Most Memorable Books

  • I’m not a huge fan of William Faulkner. Alright let’s be honest. I don’t – D-O N-O-T care for Faulkner at all, but I keep trying. I tried. I really tried to read A Fable, and I just couldn’t finish. So, this most memorable is so memorable because it pained me to read it.
  • I read James Joyce’s Finnegan’s Wake in college and have to admit enjoyed it once I got the hang of it and also my professor did a lot of hand holding.
  • I loved Frankenstein by Mary Shelley when I read it in college, then I read it attempted to read it again last year and was disappointed I didn’t love it and/or like it.
  • OMG! Bring on the water works. I read this for a book club and have to admit this is the first book that made me get all weepy.

Books Still on My TBR

One day. One day I’ll get to them.🤞

What are some of the most memorable books you’ve read? And what books are still on your TBR?

  1. I just can’t deal with Faulkner and I sympathize completely, bleah. But I am super-impressed that you’ve read Finnegan’s Wake — I looked into it once.

I do like Fahrenheit 451! It’s a weird book but still so timely, and I love Bradbury’s writing.

  2. I had to read As I Lay Dying for English at university. Short as it was, it took me a while. Very strange book!

Of those three on your TBR list, I’ve only read the Bradbury – and it’s well worth plucking off the pile and reading. An amazing book! It’s short and, unlike the Faulkner, won’t take long to read.
