Final Bout of Books 25 Update – May 13-19

Hooray!🎉 I mean Awww 😔 Bout of Books 25 is over. This was my sixth time participating and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. It was great connecting with new bloggers and dare I say increasing my TBR.

I didn’t come anywhere close to meeting my reading goals, but I’m okay with that.

And the final stats:

Drumroll, please!🥁🥁🥁

  • # of pages read: 199
  • # of books read: 1/2
  • Currently Reading:
    • The Problem of Pain by C. S. Lewis
    • The Farm by Joanne Ramos (potential DNF)
    • The Kingdom by Jess Rothenberg

Here’s what I read and didn’t get a chance to read:

  • Washington Black by Esi Edugyan – halfway through
  • An Unkindness of Ghosts by Rivers Soloman
  • The Screwtape Letters by C. S. Lewis (DNF)

I DNF’d The Screwtape Letters for now. It wasn’t part of the original Bout of Books TBR, but since I was reading it when the readathon began, I thought I’d finish. I have until the end of May to finish it and The Problem of Pain for The Classics Club Spin 19.

I’m 8 books behind on my reading goals for the year, but fingers crossed 🤞 I’ll get caught up with 20 Books of Summer.

You can follow my progress on Goodreads.

Bout of Books 26 will be back August 19th to August 25th. I’ll be back. How about you?

  1. I think I was 14 when I read The Screwtape Letters. Yeah, a bit of satirical theology is exactly what every 14 year old needs to read 😉 I wouldn’t blame you if you didn’t finish – I sure didn’t rush back to reread it! (I had just finished his sci-fi with a heavy twist of religion Out of the Silent Planet trilogy and wanted more, but got theologied out by the time I finished)
