American War is Omar El Akkad’s début novel about a second American Civil War, a devastating plague, and one family caught deep in the middle. It’s a story that asks what might happen if America were to turn its most devastating policies and deadly weapons upon itself.
As you may already know I have a few ARCs I got from work and I’ve committed to reading them this winter. 11 books in 11 weeks. Definitely doable, right?

1. Iron Gold by Pierce Brown – This is the latest installment of the Red Rising Saga. I went to work and it was sitting there all by its lonesome, so I thought I’d give it a good home; even though I’m not supposed to be adding any more ARCs to my collection. At least not until I get caught up.

I haven’t felt much like reading or blogging since my surgery. And if truth be told all I’ve wanted to do is just lie in bed these last few days because I’ve been in a lot of pain. I blame it on Thanksgiving. Must’ve been something I ate.
